Featured Artist : Gigi Miller

GiGi Miller (FrogTree Studios) is a mixed media artist, mother, and nature lover. She seeks to bring happiness and beauty to the world by creating aesthetically pleasing art that is inspired by the classics, and also by creating playful and whimsical art that feeds the imagination. Her love of nature is a constant source of inspiration for her themes. GiGi loves the creative process in general, whether she is painting, sculpting, working with mosaics, producing a multimedia installation, or taking photographs. Currently, she is focusing primarily on mosaic sculpture installations.

 

The past two years have been very busy and creatively satisfying for Gigi with many projects completed and concepts for new projects in the works.  Her contributions to public art in and around Austin  is garnering recognition and praise for her unique style and playful sensibility.  Her work can truly be enjoyed by all. Smither Park Memory Wall

Smither Park Memory Wall

Gigi was invited to collaborate on a 28 foot section of a 400 foot memory wall in Houston's Smither Park. The wall features a whimsical reef teeming with imaginary fish that are literal versions of their namesakes, including a lemon shark, catfish, swordfish, rainbow trout, parrot fish, sawfish and more.

"Leap of Faith" is a fantastical tree frog with butterfly wings that was donated by GiGi to the Bee Cave Arts Foundation in 2013 and is on permanent display in the Bee Cave Sculpture Park

Catch me if you can

"Catch me if you can" is a whimsical chameleon with dragonfly wings that is currently located in the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden (through October of 2015). This sculpture is available for purchase. See Gigi's website for details.
